IMPORTANT SKILLS IN AI-DRIVEN WORLD
I would like to share with you a study that supports my statement that human skills will become more and more important as technology develops.
Two different studies conducted by IBM with 3 thousand senior executives from 29 countries and 21 thousand employees in 22 countries summarize the near-term impact of technology in a striking way: “AI won’t replace people — but people who use AI will replace people who don’t.”
However, it is difficult to draw the conclusion that “we need to learn how to use / produce artificial intelligence” from this sentence with a short-sighted approach. According to the same study, STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) skills, which were the most sought-after skills in 2016 when artificial intelligence was not even on the agenda, dropped to 12th place in 2023. The skill that ranked first is “time management skills and ability to prioritize”. The list continues with teamwork, effective communication, flexibility, agility, adaptability to change, analytical skills, ethics, literacy and foreign language skills. In other words, the sought-after skills of the artificial intelligence era are completely human. “
